Day 3 A Taste of Sicily: Hands-On Farmhouse Memories
From Palermo to Agrigento
Today we said goodbye to Palermo and headed south toward Agrigento. Along the way, we passed olive groves, wide sea views, and that golden Sicilian light. As we continued, the pace slowed and the scenery became even more peaceful.
By the time we arrived, we reached a countryside farmhouse near Baia di Ulisse. There, my friend Cinzia and her family greeted us with open arms.
A Warm Sicilian Welcome
As soon as we walked inside, the smell of warm milk filled the kitchen. Cinzia’s husband stood over a steaming pot and stirred with care while he turned fresh milk into cheese. At the same time, laughter and conversation filled the room.
Meanwhile, a curious little dog moved from guest to guest and looked for attention.

Cooking Together in the Heart of Sicily
Soon it was time for our hands-on cooking experience. Cinzia guided us through making arancini, Sicily’s famous golden fried rice balls. We mixed saffron rice, shaped each ball carefully, and fried them until crisp and delicious. The kitchen filled with the scent of olive oil and laughter as everyone compared their creations.
From there, we moved on to pasta making. Our group, dressed in aprons, rolled and shaped dough under Cinzia’s gentle guidance. The farmhouse table was set beautifully with flowers, rustic décor, and the sparkle of a crystal chandelier overhead. Even the dogs seemed content, napping nearby while the room buzzed with joy.

A Farmhouse Feast to Remember
Lunch was a feast — handmade pasta, creamy ricotta, and trays of fresh cannoli waiting to be filled. As sunlight streamed through the windows, we gathered around the long farmhouse table. Glasses clinked, plates were passed, and every bite tasted like the heart of Sicily.
When we raised our glasses, it wasn’t just to the food — it was to friendship. To Cinzia and her family. To the beauty of sharing a table in a place where time slows down.

More Than a Tour — A Connection
Days like this remind me why I love leading Coco’s Italy group tours. It’s not only about the sights or the meals; it’s about connection — to the land, to the people, and to the shared moments that stay with us long after we return home.
That’s the Coco’s Travel difference: effortless, elegant, and unforgettable.

So, where will we go next?
