Day 1: Overnight Flight
We all meet at the airport for our overnight flight for our unforgettable journey. Once we settle into the hotel, the Villa Pace Park Hotel Bolognese, you can either relax or allow me to accompany you on a delightful walk, introducing you to the enchanting local surroundings of Treviso.
Day 2: Treviso, Italy – Includes Dinner
Our journey begins in Treviso, the birthplace of Italy’s most iconic dessert – Tiramisu. This charming town, with its rich history intertwined with nearby Venice, sets the stage for our adventure. Settle into our modern-style rooms in a picturesque villa nestled in Treviso’s suburbs, surrounded by lush, green gardens. Join me and your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner, where we’ll indulge in regional delicacies and savor Italian wines.
Day 3: Treviso – includes Breakfast & Dinner
This morning we explore the Old Town on a guided walking tour with our local guide and step into downtown Treviso, often referred to as “Venice on the Mainland.” You will marvel at the gothic-style windows, marble latticework, and the enchanting Sile and Botteniga rivers, reminiscent of its famous island neighbor. The rest of the afternoon is ours to discover more of Treviso at your own pace. Ask me for suggestions for lunch, maybe indulge in radicchio trevigiano, a delightful local delicacy. Perhaps visit the vibrant vegetable and housewares market or wander along the picturesque Canale dei Buranelli and Pescheria. Later we meet a local pastry chef and try our hand at creating the perfect tiramisu in its birthplace.
Day 4: Verona – includes Breakfast & Dinner
After breakfast we take a scenic drive and travel to Verona, the city of love and the setting for Romeo & Juliet. Choose between a walking tour of the Old Town, where you’ll admire the painted houses, or a leisurely stroll along the riverbanks, uncovering hidden bridges and monuments. Witness the iconic Juliet’s balcony and the grandeur of the Arena, an ancient Roman amphitheater still in use today and popular during Opera Season. You will have plenty of free time to explore Verona’s medieval city center before meeting up and returning to the villa for a relaxing evening and dinner together.
Day 5: Venice – Murano Island includes Breakfast and Dinner
Today we motor to the sea and say goodbye to wheels and hello to water as we embark on a boat journey to the enchanting Murano Island. Together we discover the art of glassblowing during a demonstration by a local craftsperson and then sail to the iconic St. Mark’s Square in Venice.
Admire the Basilica and the impressive Gothic façade of Doge’s Palace. Optional activities include a gondola cruise, allowing you to immerse yourself in the timeless charm of Venice. Next we enjoy an early dinner together before returning to the villa for the night.
Day 6: Asolo – includes Breakfast & Dinner
Experience the artistic haven of Asolo, where poets, authors, and composers have found inspiration throughout history. Together we explore the village during an orientation walk, uncovering its hidden treasures. We venture into the Prosecco region, a World Heritage site, and visit a local vineyard to taste the region’s sparkling specialty. Toast to the sweet life, la dolce vita, surrounded by the Venetian countryside. After a glorious day we return to the villa and enjoy a respite before tonight’s dinner we have planned.
Day 7: The Dolomites – includes Breakfast & Dinner
Prepare for a breathtaking adventure as we journey to the mesmerizing Dolomites, renowned for their unrivaled beauty. We wind through winding roads and marvel at the rugged rocks of Monte Civetta. Season permitting, take a cable car ride at Flazarego Pass for an unparalleled perspective of the peaks. Enjoy free time in Cortina, known as the Pearl of The Dolomites, to explore this picturesque resort town, ask me about lunch options.
