I’m so glad you’re considering joining me for another adventure—this time to one of my favorite countries in the world, Ireland.
I’ve had the pleasure of leading groups through Ireland before, and every journey has been filled with incredible scenery, warm hospitality, wonderful music, and memories our travelers still talk about today. Those tours were fantastic and included many of Ireland’s most iconic sights.
But this time, I wanted something a little different.
I wanted a tour that allows us to slow down and truly experience Ireland, rather than simply moving from one famous landmark to the next. That’s exactly why I chose Countryside of the Emerald Isle.
With our group limited to just 24 travelers, we’ll enjoy a more personal experience, spend more time in charming towns, and discover places many visitors never see. We’ll stay overnight on the beautiful Aran Islands after the day-trippers have gone home, cruise beneath the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, spend two nights in my favorite town of Dingle, and enjoy the colorful harbor village of Kinsale, known for its incredible food and relaxed atmosphere.
If you’ve traveled with me before, you already know how much I enjoy helping people discover the little things that make a destination special—a hidden café, a cozy pub with live music, a scenic walk, or simply the perfect place for lunch. Those moments often become the memories we treasure most.

DAY 1: Overnight Flight – The Adventure Begins
Today is the day we’ve all been looking forward to! As we board our overnight flight to Ireland, the excitement really starts to set in. Before you know it, we’ll be landing in one of the friendliest countries in the world, where rolling green hills, colorful villages, lively Irish pubs, and unforgettable scenery are waiting for us.
If you’ve traveled with me before, you know this isn’t just about seeing Ireland—it’s about experiencing Ireland. We’ll discover famous landmarks, explore places many visitors never see, meet wonderful local people, enjoy incredible food, and, most importantly, make unforgettable memories together. Our Ireland adventure officially begins!
DAY 2: Welcome to Dublin, Ireland’s Capital
Fáilte—that’s Irish for “Welcome!” Take a deep breath. You’re in Dublin, Ireland. The planning is over, the suitcases are unpacked, and now it’s time to simply enjoy the journey. I’ll take care of the details—you just enjoy the experience.
Today is intentionally relaxed, giving you time to shake off the jet lag and settle into Ireland’s easy pace. One of the best ways to adjust is to stay active, so if you’re feeling up to it, we’ll head out and begin exploring the streets of Dublin.
Dublin blends centuries of Irish history with the energy of modern Ireland. Elegant Georgian architecture, lively pubs, street musicians, cozy cafés, and friendly locals give the city its unforgettable personality.
Tonight, we’ll gather with our fellow travelers for a special Welcome Dinner, enjoy our first taste of Irish hospitality, and raise a glass to the adventure ahead. It’s always one of my favorite evenings because this is where new friendships begin. Dinner included.
DAY 3: Discovering Dublin & Experiencing Irish Culture
Good morning from Dublin, Ireland! Today, we’ll get to know one of Europe’s most enjoyable and walkable capital cities. With a local guide leading the way, we’ll explore historic streets, lively squares, and neighborhoods that tell Dublin’s story from Viking times to modern-day Ireland.
One thing I love about Dublin is how approachable it feels. There’s no need to rush from sight to sight. Enjoy the atmosphere, listen to the Irish accents, and notice the little details—the colorful doors, street musicians, and historic pubs that seem to have a story around every corner.
This afternoon, we’ll experience something most visitors never get the chance to try—Gaelic Games. These traditional Irish sports are at the heart of community life throughout Ireland. We’ll discover Gaelic football, hurling, and handball, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you’ll even have the chance to give them a try!
Don’t worry—this isn’t a competition. It’s about having fun, sharing a few laughs, and experiencing authentic Irish culture and traditions. Whether you’re swinging a hurley for the first time or cheering on your fellow travelers, it’s sure to be a memorable experience.
After leading groups through Ireland, I’ve noticed travelers often arrive excited about the scenery but leave talking about the people of Ireland. Today is usually when that begins. The Irish have a wonderful way of making visitors feel welcome, and I think you’ll start to feel that as we explore Dublin together.
DAY 4: Into the Heart of Ireland – Thoroughbreds, Ancient Kings & the Rock of Cashel
Good morning! Today, we leave the excitement of Dublin behind and journey into the beautiful Irish countryside. This is the Ireland you see in postcards—rolling green hills, sheep grazing in the fields, endless stone fences, and charming villages that seem untouched by time. Keep your camera close because today’s drive is absolutely beautiful.
Our first stop is the Irish National Stud, home to some of the finest thoroughbred horses in the world. Even if horse racing isn’t your thing, I think you’ll enjoy seeing these magnificent animals up close. We’ll stroll through the beautiful grounds, learn why Ireland is famous for producing championship racehorses, and enjoy the peaceful gardens surrounding the property.
From there, we continue south to one of Ireland’s most treasured historic landmarks—the Rock of Cashel. Rising high above the countryside, this ancient fortress has watched over Ireland for more than a thousand years. Once the seat of the Kings of Munster, tradition also connects this remarkable site to St. Patrick and the spread of Christianity in Ireland.
As we walk among the ancient stone buildings, it’s easy to imagine the kings, monks, and pilgrims who once stood in the very same place. The history is incredible, but don’t forget to look beyond the walls. Some of my favorite photographs aren’t of the buildings at all—they’re of the breathtaking Irish countryside surrounding us.
By late afternoon, we’ll continue to Cork, Ireland, where we’ll settle in for the evening and get ready for another wonderful day ahead.
DAY 5: Whiskey, Coastal Charm & the Colorful Town of Kinsale
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Old Midleton Distillery, home of the world-famous Jameson Irish Whiskey. Whether you’re a whiskey lover or have never taken a sip, you’ll enjoy discovering how Irish whiskey has been crafted for generations, what makes it unique, and, of course, finishing our visit with a tasting.
From there, we travel to one of my favorite stops on the entire tour—Kinsale, Ireland. If you’ve never heard of Kinsale, you’re in for a wonderful surprise. Often called the gourmet capital of Ireland, this colorful harbor town is filled with brightly painted storefronts, sailboats, flower-filled window boxes, cozy pubs, art galleries, and narrow streets just waiting to be explored.
One of the things I love most about Kinsale is that there really isn’t an agenda here. Wander without a plan, browse a shop that catches your eye, stop for coffee, or enjoy a long lunch overlooking the harbor. Some of the best travel memories happen when you’re not following a schedule.
This is your time to slow down and enjoy Ireland at your own pace. Find a quiet pub, chat with the locals, or simply take in the colorful waterfront. The Irish have a wonderful way of making you feel like you’ve been coming there for years.
By the end of the day, we’ll return to Cork with full stomachs, great memories, and another wonderful Irish town checked off our list—but I have a feeling Kinsale will stay with you long after we leave. People often remember the small towns even more than the famous landmarks, and that’s what makes days like today so special.
DAY 6: Westward to Dingle – Beautiful Gardens, Mountain Passes & One of Ireland’s Most Beloved Towns
Good morning! If yesterday was about slowing down, today is about sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying one breathtaking view after another. As we travel west through the Irish countryside, you’ll quickly understand why Ireland is called the Emerald Isle. Rolling green hills seem endless, ancient stone walls tell stories of generations past, and around every bend another picture-perfect view is waiting for us.
Our first stop is the charming village of Glengarriff, nestled along the shores of Bantry Bay. From here, we’ll board a ferry for a short ride to Garnish Island, one of Ireland’s hidden treasures. Sheltered from the Atlantic winds, the island enjoys a unique climate that allows beautiful plants and flowers from around the world to thrive.
Take your time wandering the peaceful garden paths, enjoying the colorful surroundings, or finding a quiet bench to simply soak it all in. It’s hard to believe a place this lush exists just off Ireland’s rugged Atlantic coastline.
From there, we continue through the spectacular Cork and Kerry mountains. Every turn reveals another incredible view, and I promise you’ll be reaching for your camera more than once. This is Ireland at its very best—and I have a feeling our next stop, Dingle, is going to steal your heart.
I’ve been to Dingle before, and every time I return, I remember why it’s one of my favorite places in Ireland. Colorful storefronts line the streets, fishing boats fill the harbor, and traditional Irish music drifts from cozy pubs. Best of all, we’re spending two nights in Dingle, so there’s no need to rush. We can settle in, enjoy the atmosphere, and truly experience what makes this little Irish town so special.
DAY 7: Discovering the Dingle Peninsula – One of Ireland’s Most Beautiful Days
This morning, we’ll set out to explore the Dingle Peninsula and travel the famous Slea Head Drive, one of the most breathtaking coastal roads anywhere in the world. Many Irish people will tell you it’s even more beautiful than the Ring of Kerry—and after today, I think you’ll understand why.
As we make our way around the peninsula, we’ll see dramatic cliffs rising from the Atlantic Ocean, rolling green hills dotted with sheep, ancient stone walls, and little white cottages tucked into the landscape. Around almost every bend is another postcard-worthy view, so don’t be surprised if our cameras get quite a workout today.
One of today’s highlights is a visit to a working Irish sheep farm, where we’ll watch highly trained sheepdogs demonstrate their incredible partnership with the farmer. It’s amazing to see how quickly and effortlessly they guide the sheep across the hillsides. This isn’t simply a show for tourists—it’s a tradition still very much a part of everyday life in rural Ireland.
Later, we’ll return to Dingle for a lively pub lunch before visiting a local craft brewery. We’ll hear the story of how one man’s passion for brewing became a successful local business, giving us another glimpse into the entrepreneurial spirit and pride of this remarkable Irish town.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Wander Dingle’s colorful streets, browse the local shops, relax with a pint in a welcoming pub, or find a bench along the harbor and watch the fishing boats come and go. There’s no rush today—and that’s exactly how Dingle, Ireland should be experienced.
Don’t head back to the hotel too quickly. Grab an ice cream, find a seat near the harbor, and simply watch the town go by. Dingle has a wonderful energy, and some of my favorite memories here have come from doing absolutely nothing at all.
DAY 8: A Night on the Aran Islands – When the Day-Trippers Leave, the Magic Begins
Today, we’re heading to what I believe is one of the most unique experiences in all of Ireland—an overnight stay on the Aran Islands.
Most visitors spend only a few hours here. They arrive on the morning ferry, take a quick tour, enjoy lunch, buy a souvenir, and rush back to catch the last boat to the mainland. Not us. We’re staying overnight.
We’ll cross Galway Bay by ferry to Inis Mór, the largest of the three Aran Islands. The moment we arrive, you’ll notice that life moves at a different pace. Ancient stone walls crisscross the countryside, tractors often outnumber cars, and traditions that have disappeared in many places are still part of everyday island life.
During our private Aran Islands tour, we’ll learn about the families who have called this rugged Atlantic landscape home for generations. Hear stories of island life, see the historic Old Cromwellian Castle and Port Aodh, and discover how these resilient communities have lived on the edge of the Atlantic for centuries.
But the real magic begins later. As the final ferries return to mainland Ireland, most visitors leave with them. Suddenly, Inis Mór becomes quiet. The streets empty, the pace slows, and it feels as though we’ve stepped back in time.
We’ll settle into our accommodations and enjoy an evening on the island when it’s at its very best. If the weather cooperates, take a walk before or after dinner. Listen to the waves, breathe in the fresh Atlantic air, and enjoy the peacefulness of the Aran Islands at night. Very few travelers experience this side of Ireland, and I think it’s a memory you’ll carry with you long after we return home.
DAY 9: Ancient Ireland & the Cliffs of Moher – A Morning on Inis Mór and a Spectacular Journey Home
This morning, we’ll wake up to something most visitors to Ireland never experience—the quiet of the Aran Islands before the first ferry arrives. It’s a peaceful start to what promises to be one of the most memorable days of our Ireland adventure.
After breakfast, we’ll continue exploring Inis Mór, beginning with one of Ireland’s most remarkable ancient sites, Dún Aonghasa. Perched dramatically on cliffs high above the Atlantic Ocean, this prehistoric stone fort has stood here for thousands of years. As you look across the endless ocean, it’s easy to understand why this extraordinary location was chosen. The views alone are worth the visit.
We’ll also visit the Seven Churches, an important early Christian pilgrimage site, before stopping at a family-owned goat farm. Here, we’ll sample award-winning Irish goat cheese while learning about life on the Aran Islands today. It’s a wonderful reminder that these islands aren’t only rich in history—they’re home to families continuing traditions passed down through generations.
Before boarding our ferry back to mainland Ireland, enjoy time in the village of Kilronan. Browse for authentic Aran sweaters, handmade Irish crafts, or perhaps a special keepsake to remember our night on the island.
Then comes one of the most unforgettable moments of the entire trip. As our ferry crosses Galway Bay, we’ll cruise beneath the towering Cliffs of Moher. Most visitors see these famous cliffs from above, but experiencing the Cliffs of Moher from the water is completely different.
Rising hundreds of feet directly from the Atlantic Ocean, the cliffs feel even more dramatic from sea level. It’s the perfect farewell to Ireland’s rugged west coast—and one more incredible memory we’ll carry home with us.
DAY 10: One More Day to Enjoy Ireland – A Relaxed Morning, A Charming Town & A Celebration of New Friendships
This morning, we’ll make our way to the welcoming town of Ennis, Ireland, one of my favorite places to simply slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. Narrow streets lined with inviting shops, cozy cafés, and traditional Irish pubs make Ennis the perfect place for one last stroll through an authentic Irish town.
Take your time today. Browse the local shops for a few last souvenirs, enjoy a cup of coffee, or find a comfortable pub for lunch. There’s no need to rush. One thing I’ve learned after bringing groups to Ireland is that some of the best travel moments happen when you simply sit back and watch everyday life unfold around you.
As the afternoon winds down, we’ll gather one last time for our Farewell Dinner. It’s always one of my favorite evenings because it’s our chance to look back on everything we’ve experienced together—from the colorful streets of Kinsale and the charm of Dingle to our unforgettable night on the Aran Islands and the breathtaking scenery of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
We’ll raise a glass to an incredible journey, unforgettable memories, and the new friendships we’ve made along the way. This is what traveling together is all about.

Not quite ready to say goodbye? I completely understand. If your schedule allows, consider adding one more night in Ireland before heading home. It’s a wonderful way to end the trip at a slower pace and enjoy a little time on your own.

You’ll spend the night at the beautiful Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin, giving you another opportunity to enjoy Ireland’s capital city. Maybe there’s a museum you didn’t have time to visit, a favorite pub you’d like to return to, or perhaps you’d simply enjoy one last leisurely walk through Dublin’s historic streets.
Dublin at Your Own Pace
Sleep in, enjoy a relaxed breakfast, browse a few more shops, visit St. Stephen’s Green, or settle into a cozy Irish pub with a bowl of Irish stew and listen to live music one last time. Sometimes, it’s nice to have a day with no schedule at all.
A Relaxed Journey Home
The next morning, you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight home feeling rested, relaxed, and carrying a few more wonderful memories of Dublin and Ireland.
